We are ready for the new iPad!
We’re sure you’ve all been waiting for the Apple press release with as much anticipation as we have! As expected, Apple unveiled their entry into the netbook market; the long rumoured ‘iPad’. With a multi-touch TFT display at 9.7″ (that’s a 1024 x 768 resolution), the iPad is essentially a large iPod Touch. The iPad is set to be released in 16Gb, 32Gb and 64Gb capacities, with two models – one Wi-fi, the other Wi-fi + 3G. We were considerably impressed with the news that the iPad will be running on Apple’s own 1GHz A4 processor, and are certainly interested to see what this might mean for future products.
As illustrated (left), not only will the iPad be running iPhone apps – scaled up with pixel doubling – it will be capable of running more complex software, such as a version of the iWorks suite. Apple have also announced that they will be completely renovating the majority of their apps in order to take advantage of the new capabilities the iPad offers. This whole new scope for creativity is certainly appreciated by other developers too – and we are looking forward to seeing what we will be able add to our own apps in development.

Ails.
